The Year in Words: 2014

Quite a year for me on the writing front…

First and foremost is the publication of my first book: Infrared Astronomy – Seeing the Heat. There’s a link to this on the right hand side of this page if you want to learn more or want to buy it (Hint: you do).*

Secondly I’ve had two stories accepted. One by NewCon Press for the Paradox anthology (this also can be found to the right) and the other by Analog, my second story with them. Since the Analog story is my third professional sale by SFWA definitions I’ve now joined that august institution which is effectively the professional organisation for SF/F writers. I think that counts as an achievement unlocked.

More submissions are out there at this very moment, so fingers crossed for more acceptances in the near future.

Also, depending on what my collaborators on the course think, we might be in the early stages of discussion with CUP about writing a textbook.

Coming up in 2015: Science guest slots at two conventions in North America: Boskone and Keycon, and hopefully more writing!
