I had a phone call at work the other day saying that I had been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who for Professionals, and wanting to confirm some information. I was a bit suspicious and didn’t tell them anything that they didn’t already know (like my work phone number and job).
I did a bit of checking up on them today and found that, while not exactly a phishing operation, they are effectively a self publishing operation, who will charge you an arm and a leg to buy a book that has your name in.
Can’t say I’m surprised.
